A one-stop-shop for your inner work
I try not to wonder about the ‘what if?’ because that is not living in the present. However, now and then I can’t help contemplating what my life would have been like if I’d had all the wisdom I have now back then.
The Mindful Being was birthed through my desire to create offerings and platforms for others to learn that could have accelerated my journey. As well as online tools to help me grow in my own time, I needed a mentor and a community.
I am 100% invested in nurturing the Mindful Being community and seeing it grow. My intention this year was to expand this conscious community and bring us together, so if I’ve not met you in person yet, then let’s make this happen!
Energy Alchemy = Ageless vitality
There’s a theme that I am devoted to and you may have noticed – it's all about energy. Bridging science and ancient wisdom through an integrated approach to wellness is steeped in the understanding that we are all energy, right down to our cells. And because we are all energy, we are all connected. Our interconnection means that what’s happening out there in the world is felt inside each one of us.
When we start to work with our own energy, we are getting underneath mental afflictions and protective ways of being that keep us bound and out of our fullest expression. This involves a connection with our feeling body which can elicit emotions.
Emotions are energy in motion
We label emotions as positive or negative, but really it’s just energy that is suppressed or expressed. We can call them ‘light’ or ‘dense’ emotions.
Feelings are our gift
Denser feelings act as an access point into our subconscious (you may have heard of shadow work). They indicate that you're not in alignment and are an invitation to come back to you. Overwhelming feelings and emotions are a nudge to go inside, to pay attention. Energy coaching provides us with tools to lean into feelings rather than resisting. When we resist a feeling, we cause suffering and over time that resistance causes pain – mental or physical disease.
Here's a foundational energy coaching practice for dealing with difficult feelings:
1. 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.
Notice if you want to jump into your escape strategies (addictions) and numb those unpleasant feelings. Reaching for the choccy, online shopping, overworking, that glass of wine. These are all forms of escape strategy.
2. 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲.
Do a body scan—where do you feel the tension? Take a few breaths into the area. Exhale with sound.
3. 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 unc𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.
We’re conditioned to bypass our denser emotions. Our nervous system doesn’t like anything unfamiliar. So, prepare yourself for feeling a little uncomfortable and...lean in!
𝟒. 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲.
Unexpressed emotions are like murky waters in your system; they block the flow of life force energy. Move your body. Embodied movement is medicine.
