We can intellectually understand the value of self-care, but embodying it daily requires a new way of being that is often in opposition to how we are neurologically and energetically wired.

Our limiting beliefs about who we really are, cause us to seek outside of ourselves for safety, security and approval. And we have been culturally conditioned this way too.

We can't expect to recondition our ways of being overnight

Still, after years of daily rewiring to become more present in more moments of the day, and cultivating the deep inner knowing that my own innate essence is all I'm ever searching for - I still find myself attaching my sense of worth to my to-do list.

Whilst I honour my drive to get things done, I now understand that this must be united and in balance with my innate creative essence, which only shows up when I'm fully rested and my energy is 'in flow'.

Ways to dial up your self-care and tap into your creative essence

  • Rewiring requires regular daily practice. Finding one that connects you with the essence of YOU is super powerful.

  • Go outdoors and place your bare feet on the ground, and inhale mama earth through the souls of your feet.

  • Take a mindful walk in nature, soaking up the medicine of nature.

  • Gift yourself a nourishing ritual bath or self-massage.

  • Above all, give yourself permission to take some regular moments in the stillness of just 'being' with what is in that moment.
