Transform through the fire of suffering
'You can always touch into the purity of your own heart. Even in the midst of pain, find the tiny grain of love. Touch it with your awareness. Expect nothing from it. Just draw solace from knowing that it cannot be extinguished by anything under the sun. Not even death can extinguish this exquisite light of soul in your breast'
Richard Rudd
When the light darkens in another, can you light up?
This is the journey of the lightworker; the wounded healer. Can you use your own healing journey to help another heal?
If you've been through the journey of keeping your heart open in the face of adversity, you've had a taste of the shamanic heart; the one who sees, the one who's healed and the one that stays in the heart.
Has life cracked you open yet?
Have you allowed yourself to FEEL into your own human suffering, without downplaying it in any way?
One of my own biggest wounds was believing I wasn't wounded. Comparing my suffering to others who I perceived as worse off.
Denial of our own pain is the first barrier to healing. I had this with bells on. Not only had I disassociated from childhood pain, but I had also painted the picture of unconditionally loving parents with no acknowledgement of their personal suffering and the ancestral wounding passed on through the DNA of my lineage.
And yes, I was raised with love and I didn't experience what Gabor Mate calls the BIG T's - severe neglect, war, sexual abuse and so forth, but I was still wounded.
Trauma and wounding are part of the human experience and healing is where our soul gets the growth it came here for.
Conscious healing is witnessing ourselves, feeling our feelings, holding ourselves with love and deep forgiveness of ourselves and others. This is a tall order and it doesn't happen overnight, there are stages to healing.
When we've acknowledged the pain, the next stage is to make the quantum flip. Moving from a vision of the world that is pessimistic, always struggling, always a victim. This is the shadow frequency, always overwhelmed by life and driven by a huge reservoir of unconscious ancestral fear.
We want to move to a perception where our own suffering becomes our friend. We approach it as a friend, with tenderness, love and acceptance.
And then we get to access the gift...
'Someone or something completely threatens to overwhelm you and you stay open. Your heart may recoil for a few moments, but then you breathe deeply into the chest and you anchor yourself in the belly and you look the experience right in the eye and you meet it with an open heart and you let the turbulence in all the way'.
Richard Rudd
You know you have reached a breakthrough when you don't freeze or explode or close down! This is a Wow Moment!
What we heal allows us to be more human, to feel the oneness of the human experience;
'from the moment of birth, every human being wants happiness not suffering.'
Dalai Lama
Staying open when we want to close is the courage that healing requires.
